The EDC operates the Smartzone building and oversees development at the Air Industrial Park and Industrial Park. Where tenants are managed for both the Smartzone and Incubator. The EDC is also responsible for overseeing airport operations and capital improvement projects as well as overall economic development of Sault Ste. Marie and the surrounding area.
Meeting Schedule
- Meetings are scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month at 12:00 pm in the EDC Board Room at the Smartzone. However, they can be cancelled or rescheduled if necessary. The Board meetings are governed by the latest edition of Roberts’ Rules of Order.
Term
- All members serve six (6) year terms.

- The board consist of nine (9) members approved by the City Commission. All members must be city residents.
