The City Manager serves as the chief administrative officer for the City of Sault Ste. Marie. This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, implementing policies set by the City Commission, and ensuring the efficient delivery of public services. The City Manager also manages City departments, develops and administers the annual budget, and leads long-term strategic planning efforts.
By promoting transparency, accountability, and fiscal responsibility, the City Manager works to support the Commission’s goals and the community’s vision for the future.
Interim City Manager – Robin R. Troyer
Robin R. Troyer was appointed as the Interim City Manager by the Sault Ste. Marie City Commission, effective September 10, 2025, and will serve in that capacity until a new City Manager is hired.
