Existing Structures Board of Appeals

The Existing Structures & Construction Board of Appeals hears any appeal from the enforcing agency of the building code and renders a decision.

Means of appeal. An interested person may appeal a decision of the enforcing agency to the board of appeals in accordance with the act. An application for appeal shall be based on a claim that the true intent of the code or the rules governing construction have been incorrectly interpreted, the provisions of the code do not apply, or an equal or better form of construction is proposed. 

Meeting Schedule

  • Meetings are scheduled on an as needed basis in the Commission Chambers at City Hall. However, they can be cancelled or rescheduled if necessary. The Board meetings are governed by the latest edition of Roberts’ Rules of Order.

Term

  • All members serve five (5) year terms.

Board Members

  • The board consist of five (5)  members. The members are appointed by the Mayor. All members must be City residents.
