CITY OF SAULT STE. MARIE
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS ON
PROPERTY TAXES, WATER & SEWER RATES,
AND GENERAL APPROPRIATIONS
The City Commission of the City of Sault Ste. Marie will hold public hearings on Monday, May 18, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Commission Chambers – City Hall, 225 East Portage Avenue, Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783, on the proposed 2026-2027 City budget, including the operating budget, capital outlay budget, equipment purchase budget, water and sewer rates, and the property tax millage rate proposed to be levied to support the proposed budget. The proposed budget is available for review at the City Clerks Office during regular business hours or on the City of Sault Ste. Marie website www.saultcity.com.
THE PROPERTY TAX MILLAGE RATE PROPOSED TO BE LEVIED TO SUPPORT THE
PROPOSED BUDGET WILL BE A SUBJECT OF THIS HEARING.
Written comments should be received at the office of the City Clerk – 225 East Portage Avenue, Sault Ste. Marie or by email at rtroyer [at] saultcity.com (rtroyer[at]saultcity[dot]com) by 4:00 p.m. on Monday, May 18, 2026; oral comments are welcome at the public hearing on the proposed City budget.
