Anyone in need of a building, mechanical, or sign permits would be able to acquire one here. It is here the community would make inquiries regarding zoning or building construction or register a rental property.

Building Department Services

 The building department performs several services for the City. These tasks are as follows:

                Issue building and mechanical permits.

                Enforcement of building and mechanical codes.

                Reviews plans for compliance with applicable building and mechanical codes prior to permit issuance.

                Issue sign permits and enforce sign ordinances.

                Repair and maintenance of traffic signal control equipment.

                Maintenance of control equipment for downtown decorative lighting.

                Provide staff support for construction and existing structures board of appeals.


Additional Information

The building department asks for a 24-hour notice when requesting an inspection. Please contact the department well in advance of planned projects to obtain information about plan review process. Any forms and guides, such as the zoning ordinances are viewable on the City’s website.

Anyone needing to check on the history and outstanding complaints of a property that he/she may rent or purchase would do so in this office. Also to  registration your rental property.


Ordinance Enforcement Officer Services

The officer enforces property maintenance code and carious city ordinances regarding property maintenance and public nuisance (junk and debris, long grass, dilapidated buildings, garbage, junk vehicles, etc.).

Annual registration of residential rental properties.
